Sunshine Stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote chats with cafonline.com after their win over Ittihad.

How was your last match?

We give God all the glory because it was a tough match.

How will you rate your opponents?

They are a good side but it was expected. They are coming from the champions league so we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match. We thank God for giving us victory.

How will you compare this match with the previous matches?

They are better than the teams we played previously and like you know, you get to meet better oppositions as the competition progresses. I told my boys before the match to prepare for a strong opposition from our opponent and I thank God they did not disappoint me.

Are you satisfied with the way your boys played?

I am satisfied. They played to instruction and you know most of them are playing in the continent for the very first time, they missed a lot of scoring chances due to naivety but their determination saw us through.

Your goals always come late in the game, is it a strategy?

No it is not. My boys hit the bar in the first half and tried to score but the goal refused to come. I told them at half time to go all out and get the goal since it is a one legged match of which they did.

What is your target?

Our target is to win the Orange Confederation Cup and so far so good we are on course

What do you have to say to Nigerians?

They should keep supporting us and by the grace of God we will not disappoint them.
