Fela’s son and the Afro Beat King Femi Anikulapo Kuti is 49 today.
Despite the controversy that trailed the divorce case he instituted against his estranged wife, Funke Femi will roll out the drums to celebrate life at 49.
Investigations revealed that before Yeni, his sister travelled out of the country for vacation, she made adequate preparations for the birththday celebration of the Afro beat king.
P.M.NEWS learned that ‘Soki’ as he is fondly called by friends and admirers, is said to be in a very happy mood.
To this end, members of staff and his fans are said to be planning to wear a customized T-shirt for today’s celebration holding at the New Afrika Shrine Agidingbi, Ikeja..
Femi Anikulapo- Kuti a two time Grammy award nominee, formed the Positive Force band in the 80. He shot into the limelight with the release of the album titled Plenty Nonsense with the popular track ‘Bang ,Bang, Bang’ that won him a Kora award.
The album was later banned by NCC.
Femi who has been separated from his legal wife, Funke who bore him his first son, Made, has five kids from other women.
