An unemployed, Alaba Shodamola, 40, has been arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting at Abule Egba, Lagos for unlawful sexual activity with Ayobami Shogbesan, 14.
The prosecuting officer, Lugard Ahonle disclosed that the accused slept with the complainant without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap.17 (c), Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2004.
The charge reads: â€That you, Alaba Shodamola on 14 May, 2011 at about 2.30p.m. at Abesan Estate, Ipaja in the Ikeja magisterial district did have unlawful carnal knowledge of one Ayobami Shogbesan, 14, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap.17 (c), Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.â€
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Mr. Owolabi Komolafe granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 and adjourned the case till 22 June, 2011.
