NDDC MD Warns Commission's Consultants Over Shoddy Jobs

The NDDC management has warned that henceforth, consultants handling various projects for the Niger Delta Development Commission are to be held liable for poor execution of such projects by the contractors.

 

Managing Director of the Commission, Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha who handed down the warning at a meeting with NDDC projects consultants said the commission has also resolved to have the consultants personally supervise their project designs to ensure proper execution.

 

“Those who design projects will be called back to supervise them, you have the right to stop any contractor who is not working according to specification,” he said.

 

 

The Managing Director who was represented by the Executive Director projects, Arch. Esoetok Ikpong Etteh frowned at the attitude of some of the consultants whom he said exhibit high level of unseriousness and unprofessionalism in their works.

 

“Let me warn that it will no longer be business as usual, you will be held responsible for the success or failure of any project you design,” he said.

 

In answer to some of the questions by the consultants the Director, project monitoring and supervision, Arch Alex Okenwa assured that the commission was taking steps to ensure that the delay experienced in paying the consultants was minimised if not completely eradicated.
