Senator Ojudu Blasts FG Over State Of Roads

A senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Babafemi Ojudu, has taken a swipe at the government over the state of roads in the country.

Senator Ojudu decried the government’s neglect of the bad roads, adding that they have become death traps across the country.

Ojudu, a seasoned journalist who was recently inaugurated into the seventh session of the National Assembly, is particularly worried that the government over the years has demonstrated an attitude that indicates that the lives of its citizens do not worth more than mere pieces of rag.

Ojudu particularly described the Abuja- Lokoja road as a nightmare on his facebook page and said he is “wondering how a leadership could allow this road to continue to be the way it is.Why are we so irresponsive and irresponsible?” the legislator queried rhetorically.

Over the years, the Federal Government has budgeted trillions of naira for the construction, re-construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of the roads in the country, but this has not yielded any commensurate result.

In the 2008 budget for example, N132.5 billion was voted for the roads with little or nothing to show for it.
