Rivers ACN Condemns Abuja Bombing
Rivers ACN has condemned the Thursday, 16 June Police Force Headquarters, Abuja bomb blast that claimed several lives and property.
In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary, Jerry Needam, on behalf of ACN in the state, the party condemned in its entirety the wanton waste of precious lives of innocent Nigerians by fellow Nigerians.
The party said that rather than declare war on the innocent citizens by the masterminds of the bomb blasts for whatever reasons, such persons or group should boldly engage government in a meaningful dialogue to iron out their differences.
“Recourse to indiscriminate bombing and killing of people as a means of settling scores in this 21st century is not only criminal, inhuman and barbaric but also ungodly as no religion or creed that is worth its tenets can make bloodletting a legitimate means of addressing issues,” the party said.
The ACN also noted with disdain the levity which security of lives and property is given back seat by the relevant organs and wondered how such a high profile criminal plot could be successfully carried out at the Force Headquarters without anybody intercepting it.
This, according to the ACN, portends serious danger for the country and the helpless defenceless citizens in particular.
It therefore called on the masterminds of the bomb blasts to exercise caution and government to wake up to its primary responsibility of protection of lives and properties of the citizenry.
