Bad State Of Roads Worry Agege Residents

The deplorable state of roads in their community has forced the residents of Abibat Street, Papa Ashafa in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, to call on the local government to repair the road on their street.

The road, according to them have not been maintained nor rehabilitated since it was constructed many years ago.

They said each time they approach the council on the issue of the road, all they get is promises which are yet to be fulfilled and therefore appealed to the authority to come to their rescue on the road.

“I have been living on this street for more 30 years and cannot remember the time council has come to maintain the road. The only time we see them is when they want to collect permits and other revenues. “We suffer a lot on the road as much of our meagre income goes on maintenance of our vehicles and for one to ride on bikes is not easy because the operators will not want to come here and when they do, the fare is usually extorbitant.

“we are appealing to the council to come and carry out necessary rehabilitation on the road,”Mr. Tayo Alade, a resident of the area, pleaded.
