No fewer than 28 persons were believed to have lost their lives today in Enugu in a ghastly motor accident involving a Peace Mass Transit bus with registration number Benue XB 504 TKP and another bus belonging to Enugu State Transport Corporation marked XL 812 UWN.
The victims included four National Youth Service Corps members believed to have served in Makurdi.
One of them had a Road Safety discharge certificate. Only two persons survived the accident.
Both the survivors and the corpses have been evacuated to Our Saviour’s Hospital, Enugu, while doctors are battling to save the lives of the survivors. The corpses of the dead have been deposited at the mortuary at 9th Mile Corner, Enugu.
Eyewitnesses blamed the accident, which occurred at about 2 p.m on over-speeding.
