Nigeria, Others Set For World Junior Championshiops Qualifiers
Nigeria has joined other countries to play in the qualifying tournament for the Junior Davis Cup, Fed Cup and World Junior Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
Apart from Nigeria, other nations which will be playing in the tournaments which have begun since yesterday include South Africa, Morocco, Ghana and Egypt in the male event.
The female category will see countries like Zimbabwe against players from Namibia, Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana and hosts Egypt.
Tennis Special gathered that players representing Nigeria in the qualifiers left Lagos State for Cairo on Sunday aboard Air Egypt in high spirits and with detemination to do the nation proud in the week-long championships.
Agency reports confirmed that veteran coach Richmore Murape and Mutare-based Freeman Nyamunokora are leading the Zimbabwean team to the tournament.
The World Junior Tennis Finals will be held from 1 to 6 August in Prostejov, Czech Republic, while the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Fed Cup World Finals will hold from 27 September to 2 October in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
