Men of the Rivers Police Command on Friday thwarted an attempt by robbers to snatch a man’s car at about 11pm.
This followed a swift response to a distress call from the man that his Toyota Avalon car had just been snatched from him somewhere in D-Line area of Port Harcourt.
Police Patrol Team 2 on Pin Down at D Line chased and intercepted the hoodlums.
During an exchange of gunfire the hoodlums abandoned the snatched vehicle and escaped in a red Mazda car.
Suspecting that they headed to Teme Hospital to treat the gunshot wounds, Diobu Divisional Patrol team ,Port Harcourt, the team laid an ambush around Teme Clinic for them.
According a statement from the Spokesman for the Police, Ben Ugwuegbulem, “the ambush paid off as they arrested the three hoodlums with severe gunshot wounds. They confessed and voluntered to assist Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, investigators.”
