King Oweipa Jones Ere,the Ebenanawei, and Paramount Ruler of Ogboin Clan of Southern Ijaw local Government area of Bayelsa,and also Cousin of Diapreye Alamieyeseigha the former governor of Bayelsa state,was last night kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt.
The whereabouts and reasons for the abduction are not known at press time.
Ben Ugwuegbulam, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the kidnap, but refused to give details.
When pressed further on the exact place the paramount ruler was abducted in Port Harcourt, he said:”I have put machinery in motion to find out the details of the incident.”
He did not furnish P.M.NEWS with further details at press time.
