Anambra To Organise Economic Summit

The Anambra Government is to organise an economic summit which will involve all stakeholders in August, Gov. Peter Obi has said.

Obi announced this in Awka when the Managing Director, Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, Mr. Mustapha Chike-Obi, visited him.

The governor, who said the summit would impact positively on the state’s economy, noted that a lot still needed to be done to move the state forward.

He expressed delight that the state’s citizens in the Diaspora had begun to develop interest in how best to assist the administration in developing Anambra.

Obi, who noted that the corporation had committed N600 billion to saving the banking sector from collapse, commended the managing director for his commitment to the development of the country.

In his remarks, Chike-Obi explained that the corporation was established to stabilise the nation’s economy and fight bad governance in financial institutions.

He noted that Obi had established a reputation in fiscal management as well as in ensuring good governance in the state.

The managing director gave an assurance that he would partner with the governor in reviving the core values of the state.

Chike-Obi promised not to let the state down in the discharge of his statutory functions.
