Daniel Emptied Ogun Treasury —Osoba

Former governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba, has accused the former Governor Gbenga Daniel administration of emptying the state’s treasury before leaving office on 29 May.

Osoba who spoke at Senator Gbenga Kaka’s thanksgiving ceremony held at the weekend at Muslim College Sport Ground, Ijebu-Ode, urged the people of the state to be patient with the new administration led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun as he tries to rebuild the state.

He called on anti-graft agencies to wade into the matter to uncover those who emptied the state’s treasury.

Daniel’s adminstration reportedly incurred N50 billion debt by the time he left office on 29 May.

Kaka on his part also appealed to the people to show understanding with the new government in the state as it would take some time before the needed turn around could be achieved in view of the parlous state of the economy inherited by Governor Amosun.

Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, stalwarts such as Senator Durojaye, Deputy Governor Segun Adeosun, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, Hon. Tola Banjo, Hon. Samson Onademuren and others attended the event.
