Games’ Facilities Are World Class —Adokiye
Adokiye Amiesimaka, a former Rivers State Sports Commissioner, has said that the 17th National Sports Festival hosted by Rivers State, will be top class, given the facilities and general organisation of the competition.
The former Green Eagles winger in his days explained that the new sport complex which was named after him has modern sport facilities built by the state government.
“I am very excited about the National Sports Festival being hosted by Rivers State. The quality of facilities and general organisation will be top class,†he said.
Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex will host quiet a number of events including athletes, swimming, tennis, volleyball and para-athletics.
Adokiye added that the festival will boost the economy of the state, given the influx of athletes and tourists visiting the state. “It will be nice if we can have a robust sports festival at state level. I have noticed that playgrounds are gradually springing up,†he stated.
He also said that the memory of the games will linger for a long time.
“I am hopeful that the competition will be memorable,†he said.
