Bomb Detector SUV Escorts Fashola

Following the increasing wave of bombings in the country by Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Governor Babatunde Fashola now goes around in his convoy with bomb detectors mounted on one of the SUVs.

Anywhere the governor goes, the bomb detector is seen and very visible for all to see, as tight security has been beefed up around the governor.

With the bomb detector in the governor’s convoy, it is expected that the devise would trigger off an alarm if a bomb is planted somewhere around the governor’s convoy or anywhere near him.

At the Governor’s Office, the bomb detector vehicle was seen among the fleet of Fashola’s car.

PM NEWS also observed that since the Police Headquarters bombing, tighter security measures had been in place at the State House, Ikeja as vehicles are now thoroughly searched at the entrance before being allowed in after the owners of the vehicles might have identified themselves with an identity card.

On Monday, P.M.NEWS observed that a vehicle was about to be parked in one of the car parks at the State House when it was stopped and rigorously searched by security operatives at the gate.

Even the Governor’s Press Crew bus conveying journalists for the governor’s assignment inside the governor’s office was not allowed in until it had its tyres tested with bomb detector to see if a bomb was planted anywhere.

It was also observed that the car park in front of the Governor’s Office where cars of dignitaries and top government officials are usually parked was deserted as no vehicle was allowed to park there anymore or anywhere close to the governor’s fleet of cars.

At the entrance to the governor’s office, bags and other items carried by visitors are screened with detector mounted at the entrance. The detector is able to show the object being conveyed in one’s bag.

Apart from these stringent measures, security operatives at the Governor’s Office are now more alert and suspicious of anybody coming into the State House.
