PHCN Staff Pray Against Return Of Barth Nnaji

Staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, nationwide, under the auspices of National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, and Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies, SSAEAC, today organised an unusual special prayer session.

According to the organisers, the prayer session is to protest the inclusion of some personalitiess in the list of ministerial nominees President Goodluck Jonathan sent to the Senate for screening and ratification.

The PHCN staff led by its National Vice President, NUEE, Comrade Mbang Etete Ekpo; Comrade Jacob Ishola of Electricity Employees Lagos State and Comrade Oluranti Chris Abod, Vice Chairman, NUEE, Ikeja Business Unit chapter called on President Jonathan not to include Professor Barth Nnaji in his cabinet because he failed to perform in the past.

They called on God to prevent those jostling for the position not to use it against the wishes of PHCN staffers.

When P.M.NEWS called at the Ikeja district office of PHCN this morning, Islamic, Christian clerics and traditionalists were seen offering prayers against the perceived enemies of PHCN staff.

Part of the five-prayer point raised include: “Oh God we thank you for upholding us in our fight against the enemies of power sector and open the heart of Mr. President to appoint a credible power minister and other things.”
