Security: Ex-Lawmaker Applauds Police Chief

An Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) stalwart in Lagos, Mr. Kunle Ademoye, has affirmed strong faith in the remarkable sense of competence of the law enforcement agencies in the Lagos Mainland Local Government Area.

The ex-lawmaker, who represented Lagos Mainland Constituency 1 in the Lagos House of Assembly, said that the fear of Boko Haram or any form of terrorism in the area does not arise as the police, especially, are equal to the task.

He particularly commended the Divisional Police Office (DPO) in charge of Denton Police Station, Mr. James Chu, for the exemplary sense of competence and efficiency he applied in the task of crime control and prevention in the area, noting that since his assumption of office, the rate of crime had gone down drastically.

“Since assumption of office of the DPO, there has been no hiding place for criminals in the area. I must confess that through the remarkable competence and efficiency which he had demonstrated in the task of crime control. I have no doubt that the state of security in the area is guaranteed under the safe hand of people like him.

“I am particularly delighted by the recent feat credited to him in the prompt and dramatic recovery of a SUV from a group of bandits who had earlier snatched it from the owner at gun point and indeed, apart from me, the DPO is generally spoken well of by people of the community.

“I advise him to continue in that vein and even step up efforts, rather than relent, while assuring him and his men of the cooperation of the people of the community,” said the former Chairman, Committee on Housing, Lagos House of Assembly.

He advised youths to refrain from crime and terrorism, urging them to direct their useful youthful energy towards positive channels of significance to their future and national development.

He also urged all tiers of government to step up efforts in ensuring adequate employment and proper education of youths in order to make them useful, not to themselves only, but the nation as a whole.
