Policemen at the Abattoir station, Agege, Lagos have arraigned a trader before Magistrate Owolabi Komolafe of the Abule Egba Magistrate’s Court for assault.
The accused, Kabiru Ibrahim, 38, allegedly assaulted another trader, Awaolu Musa by beating him mercilessly and injuring him on the head.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lugard Ahonle said the offences are punishable under Sections 351, 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap.77, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
The charge reads: “That you, Kabiru Ibrahim on 24 May, 2011 at the Abattoir Cattle Market, Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos State in the Ikeja Magisterial District did assault one Awaolu Musa by beating him mercilessly and injuring him on his head.”
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate Mr. Owolabi komomlafe granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 and adjourned further hearing till 29 June, 2011.
