The only access road linking Ikorodu with the other parts of Lagos State was this morning blocked by a fuel tanker loaded with petroleum product at Agric bus stop.
Eyewitnesses told P.M.NEWS that the driver of the Lagos-bound fuel tanker lost control and fell on the main road blocking vehicles moving in and out of Ikorodu.
Ikorodu bound commuters were discharged at Ogolonto bus stop while motorists were advised to find an alternative route from the spot.
Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA and policemen stopped vehicles at a safe distance to forestall disaster.
Lagos-bound drivers were also directed to make use of Sagamu road or find a link to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Efforts were being intensified to ensure that the fuel tanker was cleared off the road as at the time of going to press.
