The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has inducted 462 members of Associate Accounting Technicians (AAT) after successfully completing their Accounting Technician Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) examination.
The two-day event, which was held on 15 and 16, June, 2011 at the ICAN centre, Kofo Kasumu Avenue, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, was conducted by the newly appointed president of the institute, Professor Francis Ojaide, who also sworn in the inductees.
In his speech, Prof. Ojaide said many opportunities were open to them as professional members among which are provisions of not just accounting services but provision of information to top management of small and medium enterprises for decision making.
He advised the inductees to religiously uphold the code of conduct of the institute.
One of the inductees, Mr. Kuye Taiwo (AAT), thanked God for the feat, stressing, â€œmy gratitude will not be completed without acknowledging the support of my parents, relatives and friends.â€
