Lagos Govt Applauded On Education

The Supervisory Councillor for Education in Alimoso Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr. Quadri Olatunji a.k.a. Obama, has commended the state government for improving and adding quality to the standard of education in the state.

Olatunji, who recently sponsored PHWAY Initiative to train women at the grassroots to be self employed, said since inception of the Fashola-led government, the standard of education in the state has improved tremendously, adding that he was pleased with the training and retraining of both academic and nonacademic staff in that sector.

According to him, “the provision of learning and teaching aids, both in the primary and secondary schools, has lifted the learning ability to an appreciable level.”

He therefore called on the state government to redouble its efforts by absorbing more trained teachers as part of reducing unemployment in the state.

On the PHWAY Initiative self-sponsored programme, the supervisory councillor advised beneficiaries to explore the acquired training skills of the initiative and start business of their own as this, according to him, will make them to overcome the overwhelming helplessness and lack of direction in the country.
