Lagos ‘ll Host Memorable 2012 Games —Fashola

The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, is optimistic about the state’s level of preparedness to host the 18th edition of the National Sports Festival next year.

Fashola stated that the state was ready to host the Games and can even host the festivalnow, if need be.

He added that sporting facilities in the state have been upgraded, while new ones have been built.

He made this known at Rowe Park, Yaba, after the farewell party organised for Team Lagos before they departed for Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

“Lagos State is fully prepared to host the Games next year and with the facilities on ground we can host the tournament now,” he said.

He also reiterated the state’s commitment to the development of sports at grassroots and school level. He opined that hosting the Games next year will help Lagos discover more talent and athletes that can compete for the state and the country in the future.

Meanwhile, the state contingent have arrived Port Harcourt, and are optimistic of winning more laurels in this year’s Games, as they hope to better KADA 2009 Games.
