Nweke Jnr. Chairs Secretaries’ Summit

Director General of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr will tomorrow, 30 June, in Lagos, preside over a conference of the state’s chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).

The conference, in its fourth year, has the theme: Governance, Risk and Compliance Controls (GRC) – Benefits and Return on Investments (ROI), and seeks to highlight issues surrounding corporate governance and compliance in organisations, and the benefits.

Corporate Governance, Compliance and Risk are currently the burning issues in corporate settings globally.

Nweke, head of Nigeria’s most influential private sector-led economic think-tank and advocacy group, will be joined at the summit by professional speakers, including Fabian Ajogwu, SAN; who will be keynote speaker, other industry leaders from South Africa, as well as executives across sectors.

Sub-topics to be discussed at syndicate sessions include: The King III Code on Governance – Its Implications and Interplay With a Changing Regulatory Landscape and Regulatory Regime, to be facilitated by Mr. Shaheem Jakoet, Metropolitan Holdings Limited, Institute of Compliance, South Africa.

Others are: Regulatory Compliance and CSR In The Oil and Gas Sector –Effective Tools For Engineering Development, by Mrs. Elizabeth Akah, Legal Adviser, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR); as well as Balance Scorecard: An agent for Corporate Governance and CSR, by Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje, Senior Consultant/CEO of Resources and Trust Company Ltd (RTC).
