Police Recover 5 Cars From Robber

Anti-robbery policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a 43-year-old robbery suspect. The suspect who resides at 25, Odomola Street, Epe, was arrested at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, following a tip-off.

PMNEWS learnt that when the suspect was arrested, he confessed to the police that he belongs to a gang of armed robbers that specialises in robbing vehicles. He was said to have led the police team to where five cars were recovered.

According to the police, the recovered cars include four Toyota Corolla cars marked BQ169EPE, BR91EPE, BR244BOG, BR207EPE and a Toyota Camry car marked MFS443LND.

According to police source, the suspect has been transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, while efforts are on to arrest other members of the gang .

In another development, there was a report at Satellite Police Station thata man named Emmanuel was electrocuted in a workshop at 38 Sherifatu Street, Satellite Town.

According to a source, the cause of the incident is not yet known as the police are still investigating the case.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, charged technicians to always take precautionary measures while working, to avoid such urgly incidence.

“Technicians should always try as much as possible to ensure that they take precaution while carrying out their duties to avoid this kind of situation,” Jinadu advised.
