Filling Station Manager Steals N300,000

For allegedly stealing N300,000 and sales books from NIPCO filling station, Ifo, Ogun State, the manager, Oloyede Oluwole, 34 has been arraigned before the Ota Magistrate’s Court for theft.

In the five-count charge filed against him by the police prosecutor, Cpl. O. Owoleke, the accused was alleged to have stolen N200,000 from the car belonging to the owner of the station, Alhaji Musa.

The prosecutor told the presiding magistrate, Alhaji A. Adenariwo that the accused was the only one with the spare key of the car.

“When Alhaji Musa discovered that the money was missing from his car, he called Oloyede Oluwole to present the records and account for the previous day’s sales. It was discovered that another sum of N100,000 was also missing from the cash book.

“The accused also went away with the manager’s sales book, attendant’s sales book and the company’s cash book,” he stated.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Owoleke told the magistrate further: “what Alhaji Musa, the owner of the filling station, want is the company’s cash book, manager’s sales book and the attendants’ sales book which the accused promised to return, but had not done so.”

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 516,390,(9) and 249 (d) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State.

The presiding magistrate, Alhaji A. Adenariwo granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in the same amount and adjourned the case till 13 October for further hearing.
