Lub-Bak Football Club of Yaba and Teslim Thunder Balogun Football Club of Ikorodu have secured tickets to play in the second round of the championship.
The first runner-up in last year’s edition, Lub-Bak, walked over Shallom FC, while Teslim Thunder Balogun massacred Excel 6-0 in their game.
Lub-Bak’s Team Manager, Lookman Bakare, said he’s not very comfortable that his team booked a place in the next round without kicking a ball.
“I would have loved my team to play our opponents instead of a walkover. We came here with the intention that we will play our first match unfortunately, our opponents did not show up,†he said
In his comment, Thunder Balogun Coach, Dipo Abiodun, said his team are playing Boska Cup for the first time . He boasted that his team are capable of reaching the final.
“My players have shamed our critics. We are here as underdogs, but now we are become a force to reckon with as far as the competition is concerned. Our mission is to reach the final which I think is possible,†he said.
