Hundreds of supporters of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday protested the non inclusion of the former deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adetoun Adediran, in the list of commissioners sent to the House for screening.

The nominees are presently being screened by the lawmakers.

Leader of the protesters, Mrs. Olabisi Falana led them to the Assembly complex, offices of the Governor and the Deputy Governor. They called on Governor Fashola not to forget the contributions of women to his second term victory, adding that Hon. Adediran played a major role in ensuring that the PDP candidate, Dr. Ade Shamsideen Dosunmu, lost not only in his polling booth, but also in Surulere Ward F1.

“We are surprised that Hon. Adediran’s name was missing from the list sent to the House for screening. Her name was initially included but later removed. This is unfair to the womenfolk.

Hon. Adediran was instrumental in the massive mobilisation of women in Surulere and other places to vote for Governor Fashola.

“Our governor should please remember this woman and ensure that she is given a political position to compensate her for all she did during the elections,”Mrs Falana stated.
