The host state, Rivers, is currently leading on the medals table of the ongoing 17th National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt, Southsouth Nigeria.
P.M.Sportsonline gathered that Team Rivers are topping the medals table with 11 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
The hosts garnered a total of 20 medals as at end of events on Friday night.
The medals table released by the Main Organising Committee, MOC, of the Garden City Games, shows that Delta State, the defending champion, is trailing Rivers with 6 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Team Akwa Ibom are third with 5 gold and 6 bronze medals.
Federal Capital Territory is fourth with 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Ogun State that came third at the last National Sports Festival in Kaduna is fifth with 1 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals. Imo State is placed 6th with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Cross River is 7th with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, while Team Lagos are in the 8th position with 1 gold and 1 bronze medals.
