Activities for the opening ceremony of the 17th National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, South-south, Nigeria are in top gear.
P.M Sportsonline gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan and the 36 state governors are expected at the opening ceremony, which starts from 6p.m. at the Liberation stadium.
Fanfare and entertainment is also top on the list of activities lined up by the Local Organising Committee, LOC for the epic event.
Super Eagles’ captain, Joseph Yobo, and other football stars are expected to be at the ceremony as well.
Entertainer D’ Banj and Mo Hit crew are the star artistes that will perform.
Security is however beefed up ahead of the ceremony. The police, soldiers and other security agencies are on ground to ensure that the occasion goes on as planned.
Whilst preparations for the opening ceremony are ongoing, journalists still face accreditation problems.
Most of the journalists that arrived the state during the week are yet to be accredited.
