Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State has been commended for appointing proven technocrats and men of integrity as commissioners into his cabinet.
This commendation was given at a briefing by the Igbo community and non- Indigenes Association after their meeting in Lagos. Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the association, Eze Uchechukwu Nwachukwu said: “ We, the Igbo community and non-Indigenes in Lagos hereby commend Babatunde Raji fashola, SAN, our party National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, for the re-appointment of our son, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Ben Akabueze.’’
Eze Nwachukwu who was the chairman of the 15-man mobilization committee for the re-election of Governor Fashola said: “We thank God for the re-appointment of Pastor Ben Akabueze because he is a dynamic technocrat, a detribalized Nigerian, who has been loyal to the cause and aspirations of the Lagos State government in the past four years. The Igbo and non-indigenes in Lagos therefore have implicit confidence in his ability to deliver just like he has done in the past because he is a man of integrity, accountability, who believes in the rule of law,” adding that with this appointment, Governor Fashola has shown that he has a team, “committed to the continuation of the infrastructure development of Lagos State.â€
