Moved by the abject poverty and squalor ravaging many Nigerians, especially the disabled, indigent students and widows, Bishop (Dr) Chima Okereke, General Overseer, Global Success Ministries, has established a vocational centre to tackle the trend.
Tagged Success Vocational Training Centre, the cleric said he has secured the best hands in practical training, who will develop inter-sectoral skills for numerous people in need.
The centre provides training in such skills as tailoring/fashion design, carpentry, automobile mechanics, catering etc, at the end of which tools of the trade and take-off capital are given to beneficiaries.
He noted that the programme is not for members of his church alone, stressing that the divine inspiration to do the work was for humanity, irrespective of place of worship, religion or tribe.
Dr Okereke said this does not stop his regular philanthropic gestures which include random provision for widows, orphanages, the physically challenged and indigent students.
