Gun Recovered From Two Robbery Suspects


The police at Alakara Police Station, Mushin, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested two men in a hideout at Mushin, following a tip-off from members of the public.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the Divisioanl Police Officer, DPO, in Alakara got information about the suspects and immediately dispatched his anti-robbery team to the scene where the two men were arrested.

A police source revealed that items recovered from the suspects include a locally made pistol. They were said to have made a useful statement to the police. The suspects have been transfered to the State Criminal Investigations Department,SCID, Panti, Yaba.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, has subsequently advised members of the public to always assist the police with information that could help in crime fighting, saying that such information will always be made confidential.

In another development, it was reported at Ojo Police Station, that a yet-to-be identified motorist hit a male pedestrina at Volkswagen bus stop along Badagry Expressway.

The victim was said to have died on the spot.

Traffic policemen from the station were said to have taken the corpse to a public mortuary.

The PPRO warned motorists to be careful so as to avoid accidents which often result in death.
