Anti-robbery policemen from Area ‘H’ Ogudu, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a robbery suspect under bridge at Ojota.
The suspect was said to have been arrested during a stop-and-search operation while driving a land Rover Jeep marked FH 155 LSR.
During the search, one pistol and 30 rounds of 9 mm calibre ammunition were said to have been found in the Jeep and the man was promptly arrested as he could not give an account of the ownership of the arms.
The suspect, according to the police, has made useful statement which is helping the police in their investigation.
In another development, there was a report at Ilasan Police Station that a middle age man drove his VW Jetta car marked EF 880 GEE in a dangerous manner at the Ikate bus top and killed an unidentified pedestrian.
Traffic policemenfrom the station, according to our source, took the corpse to public mortuary while the suspect was arrested.
Also, a hit and run vehicle was said to have run over a pedestrian around Itere bus stop, along Oshodi, Apapa, Expressway.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The corpse of the deceased, identified as Kossi Dugbayan, has been deposited at a public mortuary while investigations have commenced.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State police image maker, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, has advised motorists to always be careful while driving so as to avoid accidents. He also advised road users to shun alcohol consumption before driving.
