Mushin Residents Hail Police, Want Quick Prosection Of Arrested Suspects

Sequel to the arrest of some social miscreants by the police over allegations of robbery and breach of public peace, among others in Mushin area of Lagos yesterday, residents of the area have hailed the development while requesting for a speedy prosecution of the suspected criminals.

It was learnt that the arrest of the suspects simply named Aloma Idris, Nuru Alapa, Erin, Rasak, Abija, Joker, Ahmed Omo God, Sinjima Sule and Papa, among others, may not be unconnected with the incessant unrest in Mushin and its environs for many years.

It was also gathered that the police had been on the trail of the suspects who also claimed to be members of the state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), for a long time since their names had been recurring on the list of most wanted criminals who have been responsible for the breach of public peace, killings and armed robbery incidents in the area over the years.

Some of the residents who commented on the development, among them a 72-year old retired civil servant, Pa Teslim Ajagbe, hailed the Lagos State Police Command for the rare feat, saying they can now heave a sigh of relief now that the miscreants have been apprehended by the police.

They urged the law enforcement agents to further give them hope of sleeping with their two eyes closed with a speedy prosecution of the criminals, who they said, had made life unbearable for the people of the areas for a long time.

Meanwhile, some of the suspected hoodlum on the wanted list of the police, two of who are identified simply as Wasiu Olori-Esho and Hakeem No-case, according to the residents, are still at large.
