Terrorism: Police On Alert In Ogun
The Ogun Police Command has placed its officers and men on alert to abort any security breach and threats to lives and property as currently being experienced in some parts of the country.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Musa Daura, made the announcement on Tuesday in
Abeokuta at a meeting with officers and men of the command.
The command’s Spokesman, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Daura urged his men to be proactive and see the fight against terrorism as a collective responsibility.
Daura was also quoted as promising to work with other security agencies in the state to secure lives and property.
He advised the public to remain calm and collaborate with the police in the fight against criminal activities.
Daura announced that visitors to major vulnerable points or places in the state, particularly at the command headquarters, state CID and State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) would be subjected to screening.
He also said that armed men would be deployed to different exit points in the state, while motorists would be subjected to stop-and-search exercise to check the influx of miscreants.
