An 80-year old man, Alhaji Suleimon Ayinda has been sent to Kirikiri Prison custody Apapa Lagos for allegedly trying to play smart on a Lagos judge by presenting forged medical report.

Alhaji Ayinda presented a fake medical report purportedly issued by Igando General Hospital to Mrs. M. B. Folami of Ejigbo magistrate’s court.

He did that to prove to her that he has been sick and was not able to appear in court to face criminal charges against him.

Although he was earlier granted bail, after his release he absconded and refused to show up in court.

When he later showed up, he presented a medical report showing that he had been ill.

The report was purportedly signed by Dr. Akinbiyi O. S. dated 10 May 2011.

On inquiry at the hospital, the management said there was no staff in their nominal roll bearing such name.

The report he presented was later discovered to be fake. The court revoked his bail and remanded him in prison.

Alhaji Ayinda was arraigned in court in 2009 for claiming that he was personal assistant to Lagos State Chief Justice.

He allegedly used that ploy to defraud Chief Inufele Ramoni Musendiku to the tune of N1 million under the false pretense that he would introduce him to the C J.

P.M.NEWS gathered that he collected the money and went away. He did not introduce Inufele to the CJ neither did he return his money.

The police in Lagos arrested him and charged him to court for fraud and impersonation under section 419 of the criminal code 2003.

He had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court granted and released him on bail.

But instead of coming to face the charges, he absconded and later came back with the fake medical report. It was not yet clear whether the court will prepare a charge for the offence.

The court has fixed his alleged criminal charge trial on 11 july 2011.
