Boxers Honour Late Adeboye

For close to eight hours boxing lovers were trilled by professional boxers who traded punches at the Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos, when they honoured the late President of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, NBB of C, Prince Olaide Adeboye last weekend.

The eight bouts held the fans spell bound.

In the six-round welterweight contest between Sule Olagbade and Olalekan Sunday, it was Olagbade, who recorded a first round TKO against his opponent.

In the Light Welterweight bout Sadiq Ahmed saw the best of his opponent Kazeem Ariyo. Pelumi Shonubi was declared winner by split decision in the six-round welterweight contest against Dele Adeleke.

Another TKO was recorded in the six-round lightweight contest as Kehinde Badmus sent his opponent Wasiu Idris to the canvass in Round 2.

Prince Nurudeen won by split decision in the eight rounds lightweight contest against Akeem Segun.

In the eight-rounds light heavyweight bout, Isaac Ekpo also won by split decision against Idowu Adebowale.

In the 12-rounds bantam weight national title defence, Akeem Muri thought Sherrif Kareem a.k.a Lecturer the lesson of his life as Muri recorded the last TKO of the night in Round 4.
