The Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, has ordered the immediate transfer of Barrister Kabiru Dodo, Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor, on Special Duties, Danbaba Suntai to the Police Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeriaâ€™s capital.
He was arrested by the police in Jalingo on Tuesday for alleged involvement in Boko Haram activities.
P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that Barrister Dodo, along with two of his aides, were escorted out of Jalingo by well armed mobile policemen in four Toyota Hilux vans in the early hours of Thursday.
A dependable police source told P.M.NEWS that after thorough interrogation, it was allegedly discovered that the governorâ€™s aide was connected to the Boko Haram group, adding that this was the reason he was transferred to the Force Headquarters for further interrogation.
The source added that the three suspects were handcuffed and conveyed in three separate vehicles before leaving the Taraba Police Command on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Commissioner, Mrs. Chintua Ono, in an interactive session with journalists on Wednesday, confirmed the arrest of the governorâ€™s aide and several others in connection with the dreaded group, but declined further comment on the matter, since it was only the IG that was competent to speak on it.
Barrister Dodo and two of his aides were arrested by the police in Jalingo on Tuesday following allegation that he was assembling members of Boko Haram in his house preparatory to launch attack on Jalingo, the state capital.
