Nigeria international Danny Shittu has signed a new one-year contract with Premier League new boys, Queens Park Rangers, QPR.
According to ESPN, Shittu, 30, has made nearly 200 appearances for Rangers in three spells at Loftus Road.
Shittu told QPR’s official website: “I am pleased to have my future sorted out and am delighted that I will be spending the next year with QPR in the Premier League.”
QPR won the Championship last season.
“I had other options available but I love this club and to have been involved in our promotion from the Championship last season is something I will never forget.
“Now I want to play my part in helping QPR stay in the Premier League.”
The Nigerian player told his fans across the world in a message pasted on his Facebook wall that “I’m glad that I will be there with QPR to keep the team in the Premiership. We’ve been back to training in the last two days now. A lot of running and our muscles feel worked, but it is all good.”
Shittu has 28 caps for the senior national team of Nigeria, the Super Eagles, and has played for both Watford and Bolton in the Premier League.
