Garden City Games Ends Today In Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Government through the LOC has announced the closing ceremony for the 17th National Sports Festival tagged Garden City Games 2011.

 

LOC boasts that it would be a memorable one that would not be forgotten in a hurry, just as it invites everyone to witness this showpiece of an event.

 

Chairman of the Ceremonials sub-committee of the LOC, Hon. Marcus Nle-Ejii, addressing news men at the LOC Secretariat in Port Harcourt, called on all Rivers people and every other person to attend the event slated for 4.00PM local time on Saturday, 9 July 2011 at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.

 

He urged everyone to “come and savour the sweetness of the climax of this wonderful festival,” saying “no one needs to be told what is going to happen at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia, on Saturday night.

 

” You need to see for yourself. It would be a memorable event no doubt; we’re inviting everyone, political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, market women, and business people, in fact everyone is invited.”

 

Hon. Nle-Ejii said all the entrances to the venue have been opened to ease access.

 

Hon. Nle-Ejii, who is also the immediate past Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in the state, thanked all stakeholders for their support, noting that their input ensured the event was a huge success.

 

He appealed to indigenes and residents to cooperate with the security agencies to ensure the safety and security of everyone at the event.
