A new and magnificent edifice that will serve as the headquarters of Orile Agege Local Council Development areas has been commissioned.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Council Chairman Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, said the focus of this administration was to fasttrack the revitalisation of the Local Council Area’s infrastructure.
The projects he listed include rehabilitation of blocks of collapsed and dilapidated classrooms, construction of boreholes in schools, provision of modern toilets as well as textbooks, chairs and tables.
Adaranijo further stated that the public health centre in the area had been provided with a well equipped laboratory which is capable of undertaking blood group, genotype, urine test at very cheap rates.
He added that the maternity centre was also renovated and adequately stocked with drug.
He stated 11 roads were constructed and nine others were rehabilitated. While stating that the new edifice is constructed on an old dumpsite, the Chairman said GCE, NECO and JAMB forms were provided for indigent students along with free lectures.
He explained that the naming of the edifice after Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was in recognition of his commitment to the development of Lagos State.
According to him, Tinubu is the architect of modern Lagos and has remained a committed fighter of injustice and a leader of the masses.
In this remarks, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the honour, adding that Adaranijo had been an astute party member.
Tinubu said the plan to create additional local governments was informed by the desire to bring governance closer to the people.
