Kween Mourns Christy Essien-Igbokwe

Kween, the Jebele minstrel, whose news of an album release is currently making rounds, is heartbroken over the passing away of The Lady of Songs, Christy Essien Igbokwe.

According to Kween, the news was a great shock to her, particularly as she had plans to feature the deceased in her upcoming album.

“I got the news from Zakki Adzay on my BB. It came as a rude shock. I loved and admired her. I grew up listening to her music especially Seun Rere, an all time classic.  She had a unique voice and I admired her, being one of my prime mentors in music,” she said.
