Burglar Nabbed

A suspected burglar, Segun Emmanuel, 18 has been arrested by the police at Agege Division, Lagos for stealing.

He was arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on a three-count charge of illegal entry on 6 May. He was alleged to have broken into the store of Hillary Uhara at 13, Akilo Street, Ogba.

The prosecutor, Roman Inuigbe said the offence contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 11, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

Count two of the charge reads: “That you, Segun Emmanuel and one other at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did break and enter into the store of Hillary Uhara with intent to commit felony and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap.17, Vol. 11, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Mrs. A.T. Omoyele, granted him bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety who must be employed and a tax payer whose home address must be verified by the court.

The case has been adjourned.
