Housemaid Steals Boss’ N9m, Docked

A housemaid, Vida Dotsey, was on Wednesday docked at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing N9 million from her boss.

Dotsey, 23, a Ghanaian, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. The prosecutor, Sgt. Philips Osigale, told the court that the accused and one other at large committed the offence on July 2, in Lagos.

Osigale said that Dotsey is a house-help to one Priddy Adekunle and stole her N9 million which was kept in the house.

He said that the alleged offence contravened Sections 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate F. O. Aigbokhaevbo granted her bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till Aug. 9 for further hearing.
