Invisible Tackle Candid, As Chairman’s Cup Ends ‘Morrow

The playground of Roman Catholic Primary School, Ibeju-Agbe Town, Lagos, will be agog tomorrow as the grand finale of the Prince Bayo Balogun Football Championship holds.

The final of the grassroots soccer tourney tagged Chairmanâ€s Cup 2011 will be played by Invisble FC of Awoyaya and Candid of Iberekodo. To qualify for the final, Invisible defeated Okanlomo FC by a lone goal in one of the semi final ties played on Monday while Candid FC beat Lakowe FC 3-0 at the playground of Magbon Alade Grammar School, Ibeju.

Organisers of the competition look forward to a glamorous closing ceremony as the annual championship is sponsored by the Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Prince Bayo Balogun, who is fondly called “The Special One”.

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour while the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Sports Commissioner, Enitan Oshodi and former Commssioner for Special Duties, Dr. Kola Kasali will be Guests of Honour.

The final will kick off by 2p.m. prompt.
