Pro Wrestling: Fashola Backs Ultimate Commander

Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has thrown his weight behind Osita Offor, as he gets set for the defence of his Universal Promotional Wrestling Federation, UPWF, world heavyweight title in Nigeria next month.

Offor, popularly known as the Ultimate Commander, will fight in a bid to retain his title in the ‘Gathering of Champions’ events that will also feature Bobby Lashly, Batista, Executioner, Masked Superstar and a host of others.

The first leg of bouts holds at the Velodrome of the National Stadium in Abuja on 14 August, while the final show is slated for the Expo Hall of Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos on 19 and 20 August.

The Chairman, Lagos State Sports Council, Agboola Dabiri, while speaking at a dinner held in honour of the professional wrestler at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos yesterday, said Fashola and the state are pleased to support the championship.

The bouts, being packaged by TUWCO & Charity Foundation in conjunction with Daar Communication, Emmanuel tv and Tee-Mac Productions, is supported by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ALGON and Nicon Luxury hotels among others.
