Special Students Task Nigerians
Students at the Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment School have called on Nigerians to show love and affection to them.
One of the students at the home, Toma Unu, a talented artist who does her drawing with her legs, said people should come and make them happy which will go on to assure them that they are part of the society.
“People should come here, play with us and make us happy, they should make us know that we are part of the society and they should not neglect us,†she said when a young man, Jeremiah Ogbodo who is the General Manager of Tiannah’s Place, a beauty spa, came to celebrate his birthday with them.
Unu thanked Ogbodo and prayed that God will honour and bless him that may he never labour in vain.
She called on all other people to emulate his gesture and come to the home.
She also said everything is not about giving but that what they need most is love.
Another student, Samuel Meshimo said what Ogbodo did gladdens their hearts.
“When we see people come around to celebrate with us, we love it and it is a thing that gladdens our hearts,†he said.
Ogbodo in his remarks said he decided to celebrate his birthday with them because he felt that they are neglected and that they needed to be shown love.
“A lot of Nigerians don’t pay attention to these children and it is not the best. I have made up my mind that every year I will be coming here to celebrate my birthday with them,†he said.
He charge all and sundry to visit these people because they need help and that government at all levels should come to the aid of these people in the homes. He also call on their parents not to abandon them,
“Our government should not forget these people, they should make sure that they take good care of them and pay more attention to them because they have great talents.
