President of the Society of Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Davidson Akhimien, yesterday in Lagos, said that the Federal Government is not doing enough in the area of reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners who have served their various jail terms.

Speaking during his investiture as the third president of SSPN, Akhimien stressed that the government cannot tackle the embarrassing issues of criminalities, violence and series of bomb blasts in the country, it is therefore a well thought out blueprint to reform and formally rehabilitate prisoners who have served their jail terms back into the society.

According to him, failure to do this could lead to a situation, where people who regained their freedom after serving various jail terms for committing criminal

offences will go back to commit such offences, since they will be regarded as outcasts in the society due to improper or lack of rehabilitation.

The SSPN boss, who is also the CEO of King David Security Company Limited, advised government of President Goodluck Jonathan to have a clear-cut blueprint for the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners in the country.

The investiture, which was held at the SSPN secretariat in Ilupeju, Lagos, attracted more than 200 owners of private security companies within and outside the state.
