Chief Coach of Ristinego Football Club of Surulere, Victor Nwenwe, is sad that his team could not go beyond the second round in the ongoing Boska Soccer Championship.
Ristinego lost 3-5 to Labro Football Club of Agege on penalty shootout after one goal apiece in the regulation time. With this defeat, Restinego have crashed out in the second round of the championship.
Nwenwe told GSG on Tuesday that he left the tournament unfulfilled, stating that his target is to take his team to the final.
“I am not fulfilled as a coach because I didn’t go far in this year’s Boska Cup. For us to defeat the defending champion,MFM Yaba football team, in the first round, I believed we could reach the final but unfortunately, we were sent parking by Labro FC,†he said.
Nwenwe said his players gave a good account of themselves but were unlucky during the penalty shootout.
He commended the organisers for good coordination of the tournament.
“My players played well. We scored a fantastic goal but our opponents equalised. I am sad and unfilled that we did not go beyond the second round of the tournament,†he said.
