All Stars Play Friendly Tie Sunday

The younger members of All Stars International will take on their elders at Campos Stadium, Ite Oru Igboro, Ajele on Lagos Island, on Sunday, 24 July, 2011.

The friendly encounter between the young members and those above 50 years of age was packaged by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, who has also promised to feature in the epoch-making event.

“It’s most likely that Governor Fashola’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Olanrewaju Babalola, would lead the elders’ team against his boss, who according to grapevine, has also agreed to lead the youngstars attack in a match, already dubbed “the battle of brains and brawn.”

The oldies would be parading a cream of Nigeria’s former Internationals like “Bulldozer” Amusa Shittu, Sunny Oyarekhua, Mike Akintoye, Kenneth Olayombo, Burlington Olayombo, Duro Adigun and Sunny Ine, all former internationals.

Also in the team are Mike Malagwu, Kehinde Solarin, Stephen Adigwe, Fatai Bankole, Col. Gary Usman (retd), Yomi Pearse, Gholahan Sulaimon, Femi Toki, Babatunde Lateef, Amanze Uchegbulam, Godson Uti, Nicholas Ukadike, Patrick Mowete, Alfred Ekundina, Segun Adenuga, Ugo Ugorji, Gege Odihili, Rilwan Ajasa and Johnson .

The oldies are ready to tango with the likes of Stephen Abarowei, Suberu Duncan, Tarila Okorowanta, Fred Amata, Evans uduak, Olumide Obanla, Mojeed Adegbindin, Ladi Oshin, Saheed, Emmanuel Ibru, Kingsley Anosike, Muyiwa Olaofe Morakinyo Fawole and Tairu Hassan to be led by the state governor.

P.M.sports learnt that an undisclosed amount of money has been set aside as prize money for the best player, best goalkeeper, highest scorer and the eventual winner of the match.
